FLEXI PHOTOSHOOTER – VERTICAL was designed for companies that do not have a production line and are specialized in the slab trade. The system can be installed directly in the slabs deposit in an area of about 5000×7000 mm served by an overhead crane or a jib crane for handling the slabs.
The system consists of a photo shooting station equipped with a computer that manages the shooting operations.

FLEXI PHOTOSHOOTER – VERTICAL is composed of a plant and a software formed as follows:

A. The plant consist of:

  • Camera for taking high resolution photos
  • Lighting system consisting of flashes with diffusers
  • Metal structure to support the camera and the lighting system
  • PC with touchscreen monitor
  • Background sheet to be placed behind the support of the slab to be photographed

B)Software component

  • Camera Control (controllo completo automazione e acquisizione foto)
  • PhotoPRO (contouring, size and slab customization)
  • SISY Slab Inspection System

Overall, the software component performs the following functions:

  • Taking the photo
  • Measurement of the photographed slab
  • Contouring of the photographed slab
  • Positioning of the photographed slab on an artificial background that can be customized with the company logo and equipped with self-centering metric rulers
  • Sending the photo and related data to the management software

The image acquisition procedure takes place as follows:

The slab is placed on its support by means of a bridge crane or jib crane. After placing the slab in position, all the information relating to its identification is entered on the service monitor screen:

  • Customer Code
  • Customer Name
  • Material Name
  • Block Number
  • Slab thickness
  • Number of the slab being photographed. The slab numbering can be automatic incremental or decremental.

The shot is taken by the operator by clicking on a button on the service monitor without having to set the camera according to the color of the slab. The photo is then acquired by the PC which automatically numbers it, detects the dimensions of the “all marble” slab, contours it and places it on the customized background with the company logo equipped with self-centering metric rulers based on the size of the slab.

Then the photo thus prepared, in jpg format, with all the related identification data reported in an xml file, or placed in a specific folder at the user’s discretion, is sent to any virtual warehouse for the management of its use. From here the photo and the identification data of the slab can be entered in the SISY (Slab Inspection System) software to proceed with the remote inspection of the slab. SISY allows you to mark the aesthetic and structural defects of the slab on the photo using specific tools that draw lines or areas. Each traced mark is georeferenced by recording its spatial coordinates in the data file of the slab.
